Zaid (9) saved coots from boys who threw it over

The Animal Ambulance Amsterdam and his mother are very proud of 9-year-old Zaid. The normally shy boy intervened when he saw a group of older boys throwing up two coots. "I did not like to see that, because animals also have a life," he says himself.
It was not the first time that Zaid called the animal ambulance, but it was the most exciting. Earlier he called once for a dog that had clearly lost its owner. And also once for an injured bird. But when he went to play football a few days ago, he saw that some boys were throwing two birds. Zaid knows the boys from the neighborhood, they are a little older than him. "I think there was an 11 and the others 10."
"They played with the birds, and then they threw them. Then they put them away for a while. Then I quickly picked them up and went home with them."
Zaid was especially very sad that others had hurt the animals. "He came in crying," says his mother. "He said we should call the animal ambulance."
The animals were dazed and probably had severe headaches, which prevented them from holding their heads up, explains an employee of the animal ambulance. They have been taken to the bird sanctuary, where they are well cared for. How they are doing now is not yet clear. But chances are, according to the animal ambulance, that they will make it. "They need good care, the right warmth, food and love. And they get it there."
Zaid and his mother are surprised by the large amount of positive reactions that Zaid is now getting, including on social media. "I thought it was normal what I did, but now I think it's special." Big compliment and respect for Zaid !!!

Decade Dick: Almost all participants passed the traffic exam

Freek Bredius was a guest in Decennium Dick on behalf of Safe Traffic Netherlands department Krimpen aan den IJssel. He was able to tell us that 421 children participated in the practical traffic exam today. All but five children passed. Congratulations to all! The children who did not make it turned out to have cycled on the route with their hands free. The route started and ended at the Tuyter. Mayor Martijn Vroom was present to officially start the first class. 7.3 Kilometers was cycled and the children of the groups 7 and 8 passed all kinds of difficult intersections and traffic situations in Krimpen aan den IJssel. What was very annoying and difficult was that there have been young people who removed or turned around signs from the route. In addition, some plates are irreparably damaged. It was the first time that this happened on the day of the traffic test. Your browser does not support this audio player. You can download the file . Also in this edition of Decennium Dick a...

#Sweet

#Lief is a themed broadcast of Decennium Dick on Thursday evening March 4, 2021 ... Love is never sin, living without love is sin! That was one of the texts that was written down in chalk on the public road near the Mieras Church on Saturday. How can we find love again in Krimpen? How can we together ensure that peace is restored in our society? Where we can all live, work and live with pleasure? Living with pleasure is also one of the central points of the Youth Advisory Council of Krimpens-Belang. A group of 15 young people want to help local politicians with their ideas and will provide the Krimpens-Belang and thus actually the entire municipal council with input. Two members of the Youth Advisory Council were our guests tonight. Your browser does not support this audio player. You can download the file . Then we spoke with Alderman Coen Derickx about the letter from Reverend Kort, about how it was discussed in the council and what will happen on Saturday. Your browser does ...

Possibly Fieldlab church service in Krimpen

Thursday evening April 1 in Decennium Dick in extended with Mayor Martijn Vroom to look back on the past week. Through Teams I spoke with the mayor tonight about the impasse, the polarization and how we hope to get out of this situation together. POLARIZATION This week for the churches 'The silent week' it is the week of Good Friday and the following Easter. But it was not quiet in Krimpen aan den IJssel. It was restless with a journalist being kicked in the stomach and a firework bomb that exploded near the 'Oude Gereformeerde Kerk in the Netherlands' popularly known as the Mieraskerk. There is polarization. The full city council issued a joint statement this week. The mayor calls it 'the basis for a lot of good that is yet to come'. But the mayor also realizes that more is needed to regain peace in Krimpen: 'Without outside help, I think we will not just get out as a village, so we have already discussed this road a number of times. had with the ministr...
