Rob Birchmeier was fishing in his kayak in a South Carolina swamp when he got the fright of his life. He thought he had hooked a ray, but it turned out to be an alligator about eight feet long. On May 20, Birchmeier was single-handedly fishing for flounder from his 10-foot (4-meter) kayak. Images from the local newspaper show that he has caught 'something'.
