The new LOK disc: Flags (Coldplay)

Coldplay surprises us with a new single. Well, new? In any case, new to us. The song "Flags" has already been released as a bonus track on the Japanese version of the album "Everyday Life". In Japan it is customary to add a bonus track, so that the CD is not imported from Europe or America, but is simply bought in the record store around the corner. Coldplay releases the song internationally and can therefore be heard everywhere. What you hear then is the familiar sound of Chris Martin. "Flags" is a dreamy song that perfectly matches the mood of the album "Everyday Life". Nice to hear this on the radio at the end of the year in between all the musical Christmas violence. So LOX DISC! © 2020 Lokale Omroep Krimpen Source: Original article (Dutch)

Found snack bar over 2000 years old

In Italy a snack bar has been found that is more than 2000 years old. The restaurant was in Pompeii. That city disappeared more than two thousand years ago due to an eruption of the volcano Vesuvius. Everything came to lie under a thick layer of ash. A large part of the city has now been excavated. Snack bars have been discovered before, but archaeologists think their latest find is extra special. There is a lot left of it and even ancient food remains have been found. There are also paintings of the animals that were eaten there. Archaeologists are trying to restore the snack bar as good as possible. Perhaps make it a drive thru? In this last edition of Happy Hour in 2020 we have two Jukebox Giants: one from 1980 and one from 2006 . It goes without saying that we will call people who have had or are about to have their birthday. Have fun listening! © 2020 Lokale Omroep Krimpen Source: Original article (Dutch)

Special about The Boss

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (born 9/23/1949 in Freehold / New Jersey), American rock singer. He is also called The Boss. At the age of thirteen, Bruce Springsteen bought his first second-hand guitar and learned to play the instrument as an autodidact. After escaping military service through pretended homosexuality, he formed several bands, before moving to New York City in 1971 to the artist neighborhood of Greenwich Village to pursue a career as a solo musician. He had the opportunity to present himself to the record company "Columbia Records" with self-composed and self-written songs on which he received a contract in 1972 and not much later founded the formation "E Street Band" . After two unsuccessful record productions, things got better in the mid-1970s and he was called the "future of rock and roll" and he was considered a worthy successor to Bob Dylan. In 1981 he breaks through with the classic 'The River' . Springsteen garnered

Corona outbreak Crimpenersteyn residential care center

Crimpenersteyn residential care center, part of De Zellingen, has been dealing with a corona outbreak since last week, of which the source is not clear. At the time of writing, 56 of the 217 residents and 19 employees have tested positive for corona. The outbreak appears to be stabilizing. The situation appears to be stable, as the number of suspicions and positive results is not increasing any further. In addition, various residents will be allowed out of quarantine in the coming days. As stated earlier, all residents who have previously tested negative will be tested again this Monday, with which we try to keep the situation under control as much as possible. The GGD has indicated that, contrary to a previously shared message, re-testing of employees is not necessary. That is why employees are only tested for corona-related complaints. Due to dropouts, the pressure on the departments is currently so high that we are making an inventory of which staff employees can support in the c

Aid initiative #Not only

Shortly after the outbreak of the Corona crisis in March 2020, churches and local (aid) organizations, including the Protestant Church in the Netherlands and Kerk in Actie, joined forces in the Nietalleen.nl platform. This platform connects clients from all over the country to local aid initiatives in their area. People who have a practical request for help or would like to have contact and a listening ear can call the national number 0800-1322. They are then linked to the local coordinators. In Krimpen aan den IJssel you can also mail to: nietalleenkrimpen@outlook.com . More and more people are affected by the consequences of the corona crisis, but find it difficult to ask for help. We live in a time when we want to be able to do everything ourselves and do not quickly ask for help. It may seem like a sign of weakness, but it is courageous if you dare to depend on others and admit that you need help. And know that the helpers do this with love! In the dark months of the year, we wa

Youtuber faces 15 years in prison after locking pregnant girlfriend half-naked in freezing cold

Viewers could see how Reeflay brought in her lifeless body after a while and tried to resuscitate her in vain. Thirty-year-old Stas Reeflay, a Russian vlogger, challenged his followers by saying he would kick his pregnant girlfriend out if someone donated $ 1,000. The money came in and so Reeflay did what he promised. He put the almost naked Valentina Grigoryeva (28) outside in winter temperatures and closed the door. The couple lived together in Ivanovo, some 250 kilometers northeast of Moscow, where temperatures currently drop to - 10 during the day and to - 16 at night. According to one viewer, Reeflay also threw water over Valentina's almost naked body, according to the British tabloid The Sun. The woman would have tried to grab a coat, but Reeflay quickly took it away. It is not clear how long she had to sta

Dire ginger nuts situation at primary school in Westerbork: a call to Q saves Sinterklaas party

Code red, last week at Kindcentrum De Wegwijzer in Westerbork: the order for the gingerbread cookies for the Sinterklaas party at school had not been received. In total, the child center, which houses two primary schools, had ordered 370 bags of gingerbread cookies for all pupils. "The day an MR member wanted to pick up the gingerbread cookies, it turned out that the order had not been received," says Laura Smilda. “We tried to order from other branches, but none of them were able to deliver them on time. Pepernoten were available, but the point was that they were corona-proof in the bags. ” A pepper-nut-free Sinterklaas party threatened De Wegwijzer. In an effort to get the ginger nuts in time, Smilda sent a message to Domien Verschuuren's radio show on Qmusic asking if he could help. "Then suddenly I got an answer from Domien asking if I wanted to do my story in the broadcast." No sooner said than done. After Smilda explained the situation, the DJ reporte
