This week in Decade Dick

Hello? Could you hear me? There was an internet failure tonight in Krimpen aan den IJssel, which made it difficult for us to get the radio signal on our transmitter. Fortunately, the connection was re-established during the first hour. Tonight we spoke with councilor Hugo van der Wal. A nice location has been found to be able to vaccinate in Krimpen aan den IJssel as soon as vaccines are available. But before vaccination can be started, a few things must first be arranged. Man survives eighteen days in Australian wilderness

A 58-year-old man who had been missing in the Australian wilderness for 18 days has been found safe and sound. Robert Weber survived by drinking water from a dam and eating mushrooms. Police have announced. The man was last seen on January 6, after leaving a hotel in Kilkivan, Queensland, about 200 kilometers north of Brisbane. According to police, Weber got stuck on a road unknown to him. "He then stayed close to his car for three days, along with his dog, until he ran out of water," police said in a statement. "He left on foot and got lost." The man stayed near a dam, where he survived by drinking water from the dam and eating mushrooms. He slept on the floor. His dog has disappeared. Searches for Robert Weber in the 'dense area of bushes, rivers, dams and steep terrain had been stopped a week ago. He was found this morning by a local landlord near a roadblock. Attentive waitress rescues 11-year-old boy from abusive parents.

In Orlando, Florida, a waitress rescued an 11-year-old boy who was severely abused by his stepfather and mother. When the family visited her restaurant, the woman noticed that the boy was not getting any food while the rest of the family was enjoying themselves. She also saw that he had scratches and bruises, after which she - behind the back of parents - asked the child via a letter if he needed help. The boy then nodded yes, after which she called the police. The conscious family, consisting of two adults, a boy and a girl, entered the restaurant towards the end of their shift. Food was ordered for everyone except the boy. Carvalho noticed that the child was not fed and was quiet while his table mates were talking and playing loudly. When the woman walked over to their table to ask if everything was okay with their order, one of the parents said the boy would get his food home. It was then that she began to seriously suspect that something was wrong. "You don't refuse a ch

After 157 attempts, the man finally passes the theory exam

Passing your theory exam is not easy for everyone. A British man only passed after 157 attempts and paid a total of more than 4000 euros in exam fees. He has been doing this for a long time now than the number two on this illustrious list: a 34-year-old woman who still failed after 117 attempts. The male driver, aged 42 and living in England, finally passed his 158th attempt after spending over $ 4,000 in exam fees alone. This is evident from data from the Driver and Vehicles Standards Agency, the British counterpart of the CBR. This man does have persistence. In this Happy Hour we are going to talk to Lourens Portasse about the political situation in the United States and we have someone on the line who is going to tell us something about Nightwish. Telstar player Plet pee in empty stadium during match

The fact that the football stadiums are not filled with public due to corona does not only have disadvantages. Telstar player Glynor Plet experienced this during the match against NEC last weekend. Because if you feel 'a puddle' coming up and there is no one to watch, you might as well empty your bladder at the edge of the field. And that's exactly what Plet did. "We were five minutes into the game and I felt that I had to pee," said the player in the NH Radio program Spittijd. "We were under a lot of pressure, so I thought: if I walk in now, I will only make it more difficult for my team." So Glynor Plet played on with a pressing bladder. "But the longer that took, the more necessary I had to", he says in retrospect. When the ball went out and there was a corner, the Telstar player saw his chance. "Then I thought: now I just have to. I quickly jumped over the boarding and I thought: it just has to be. I just peeed and moved on." T
