Recovered Ferrari saved from demolition: Preferably to Artis

The Ferrari that was removed from the IJ on July 9 will not be scrapped. The car is now at a scrap yard in Blokker, North Holland, but what exactly will happen with it is still unclear. The Ferrari Mondial was stolen in 1987 and was spotted 26 years later during a fire service diving drill in June. A month later the Ferrari was fished up.

'Normally it arrives as a package. And then the story actually ends, 'says Lowie Hoedt of car junkyard De Ooyevaar. Yet they did not have the heart to actually demolish the vehicle. That while this type of vehicle was not the favorite among Ferraris. 'This was kind of the ugly duckling in the family. But so many years later and after having been through so much misery, he still gets the appreciation that a Ferrari should get.
What will eventually happen to the Ferrari is still the question. The scrap yard has had a lot of contact with people who wanted a part of the car. 'For example, people wanted to buy an engine block and use it to build a coffee table,' says Hoedt. 'Or they wanted to convert the rims into a piece of decoration.' According to Hoedt, the car comes from Amsterdam and belongs there. "Big money is being offered for the car, but our wish at the moment is to get it to Artis." According to Hoedt, there are beautiful aquariums in the animal park. 'The best thing would be if he could be under water somewhere. After all, he spent 26 years there. ' And I totally agree.

In this summery Happy Hour we play music from 2005 to 2018. Oh yes and the month is August. So, very interesting to listen. A tip of the veil: Avicii and The Black Eyed Peas.

Have fun listening!

Decade Dick: Almost all participants passed the traffic exam

Freek Bredius was a guest in Decennium Dick on behalf of Safe Traffic Netherlands department Krimpen aan den IJssel. He was able to tell us that 421 children participated in the practical traffic exam today. All but five children passed. Congratulations to all! The children who did not make it turned out to have cycled on the route with their hands free. The route started and ended at the Tuyter. Mayor Martijn Vroom was present to officially start the first class. 7.3 Kilometers was cycled and the children of the groups 7 and 8 passed all kinds of difficult intersections and traffic situations in Krimpen aan den IJssel. What was very annoying and difficult was that there have been young people who removed or turned around signs from the route. In addition, some plates are irreparably damaged. It was the first time that this happened on the day of the traffic test. Your browser does not support this audio player. You can download the file . Also in this edition of Decennium Dick a...
