Restaurant saves rare lobster from cooking pot

Instead of serving him as a meal, a restaurant in the US state of Ohio has donated a rare blue lobster to a zoo. The Zoo in the city of Akron claims to have taken care of the animal after restaurant staff discovered what rare animal they were dealing with. The restaurant employees gave the shellfish the name Clawde, a pun after the English word claw (claw or scissors) and the boy name Claude. The unusual blue color of the lobster is the result of a gene mutation. The color only occurs in 1 in 2 million copies. At the zoo, the crustacean now lives in a special swimming basin called Clawde's Man Cave.

Municipalities support National Moluccan Monument

This year it will be 70 years ago that the 1st generation Moluccans were transferred to the Netherlands in 1951 with 12 ship transports. On command, about 4000 Moluccan KNIL soldiers and Navy men came to the Netherlands with their families (in total 12,500 persons). At the point of arrival of the 1st transport ship at the Lloydkade in Rotterdam, it is not yet possible to trace a historical event. The National Moluccan Monument Foundation (LMM) is committed to realizing a monument. The monument will be a tribute to this 1st generation Moluccans and their families and in recognition of the shared past.
