#Sweet

#Lief is a themed broadcast of Decennium Dick on Thursday evening March 4, 2021 ...

Love is never sin, living without love is sin! That was one of the texts that was written down in chalk on the public road near the Mieras Church on Saturday.

How can we find love again in Krimpen? How can we together ensure that peace is restored in our society? Where we can all live, work and live with pleasure?

Living with pleasure is also one of the central points of the Youth Advisory Council of Krimpens-Belang. A group of 15 young people want to help local politicians with their ideas and will provide the Krimpens-Belang and thus actually the entire municipal council with input. Two members of the Youth Advisory Council were our guests tonight.

Then we spoke with Alderman Coen Derickx about the letter from Reverend Kort, about how it was discussed in the council and what will happen on Saturday.

Saskia Bijl of Krimpens-Belang wanted to participate in the theme broadcast #Lief. Below you can hear her reaction.

Then we spoke with Reverend Baggerman of the IJsseldijkkerk.

In the second hour we spoke with Mark van der Meulen of the VVD.

In the broadcast, Leon Houtzager looked back at the writing campaign that the COC organized in Rotterdam last Sunday, in which dozens of letters were written for the Krimpen municipal council.

In the video report Jeffrey van der Elst of Liveable Krimpen and Wilma Lingen of the Stem van Krimpen spoke. Last Saturday they were two of the people who went to make chalk drawings at the Mieras Church.

We concluded the broadcast with the weekly column by Mayor Vroom. It is already the 222nd column that also connected to the theme #lovely. You can listen to the column below, or read it yourself.

Because I prefer to talk to people than about people, we also tried to contact the spokesperson for the Mieraskerk, but he did not want to cooperate with the broadcast.

From a churchgoer we had received the following response on our Facebook page from 'Johanna Regenboog'. I offered to respond to Johanna in the broadcast, but she preferred not to. I was allowed to read the reaction. I read bits of it. You can read the entire text here ... For the sake of clarity, it is the opinion and the full text of Johanna Regenboog.

Pastor Kort a homophobic and are followers aggressive gay haters?

The only explanation I could find on the internet for the word homophobic is 'fear of people of a homosexual orientation'. We can be brief about that: there is absolutely no such fear. Also in our church there are people with a homosexual orientation and these people are simply part of our community. These people regularly knock on the door of Pastor Kort for an interview and he tries to guide them in this in a fatherly way. Some of these people then decide that a different church or no church suits them better, others just stay in the church. Whether they or their family are called names or looked away? Of course not! We are all the same creatures and no one is one hair better than another. In fact, when a seriously ill man was almost no longer welcome to anyone because he was practically gay, he was welcomed by Reverend Kort. When asked if he was not afraid of contracting AIDS, the pastor said: no, he is also a creature of God and should also be helped.

Whether he or we agree with the practice? No, the Bible makes it very clear that God created man and woman and that He sees sexuality within a committed relationship. He does not approve everything outside of it and we may also propagate this message. God is Love, but He also wants us to listen to Him. We may come to God as we are, but we must obey Him afterward. That does not mean that we can disapprove or treat one person unkindly, because everyone is equal and charity is one of the great commandments.

This did not come across in the episode of BOOS. First of all, the pastor did not talk to Leon, very sad that this was not possible. Previous experiences with this and other programs teach that everything that is said is distorted, so that it is better not to have a conversation during filming. This was also evident from the last scene and that of the quoted statements. One of these quotes can be clearly understood as racism without the context of the whole sermon. Pastor Kort's statement about black people is part of a list of nations serving God, “out of all nations, tongues, and tongues”. There is absolutely no question of racism.

The broadcast ends with a shameful scene: Tim and Leon are berated and hunted. Not because Leon is not wanted because he is gay, he is. Because the gentlemen harassed a mourning family that had gathered around their father's bier. Tim and Leon even refuse to leave after insisting they are indeed chased away by the family. The language that was expressed at that time is absolutely not possible, the man in question apologized for this later. Is this highlighted in the Boos broadcast? Of course not, apparently that doesn't matter. Making an express report and holding protests on Sundays because it hurts us, is that respectful? No absolutely not, yet Leon is still welcome to come and have a cup of coffee to show him that I have nothing against him as a person and because I understand that our message hurts him. Love for all my fellow human beings!

End of quote ...

Municipalities support National Moluccan Monument

This year it will be 70 years ago that the 1st generation Moluccans were transferred to the Netherlands in 1951 with 12 ship transports. On command, about 4000 Moluccan KNIL soldiers and Navy men came to the Netherlands with their families (in total 12,500 persons). At the point of arrival of the 1st transport ship at the Lloydkade in Rotterdam, it is not yet possible to trace a historical event. The National Moluccan Monument Foundation (LMM) is committed to realizing a monument. The monument will be a tribute to this 1st generation Moluccans and their families and in recognition of the shared past. The monument can also serve to continue telling the story of the arrival of Moluccans in the Netherlands to current and future generations. For anyone interested in this history, the foundation wants to offer an opportunity to learn more. They believe that more knowledge of each other's past leads to more understanding. To realize a monument, the LMM foundation has entered into a p

Largest water lily in the world blooms in Leiden

The oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands, the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden, has a wonderful pineapple scent. That means that the Victoria Amazonica is in bloom. With leaves that can grow up to two meters wide, this is the largest water lily in the world and its flowers smell like pineapple. The flower of the Victoria Amazonica is a night bloomer and only blooms in high summer. What is special is that the water lily only blooms for two nights. Rogier de Vugt, cashier of the Leiden Hortus Botanicus, knows everything about the plant. "The first night the flower is white and gives off a strong pineapple smell, which attracts beetles. The second night the flower turns pink and has no smell anymore. The beetles still come to it and are covered with pollen", explains De Vugt. Because the plant has an enormous size, only one can grow in the pond of the Hortus. "The leaves have raised edges, so they can't grow over each other, so they can't get any light anymore. Th
