The new LOK disc: De Overkant (Suzan & Freek & Snelle)

In 2016, the couple Suzan & Freek received a shoutout from The Chainsmokers for their cover of “Don't let me down” after which a successful career started. Their first self-written song “Als het Avond is” from 2018 was played in Belgium and the Netherlands, but put the duo on the map as an act of which you think: 'yes, they can do something.' And then you also have rapper Snelle. What Suzan & Freek and Snelle have in common is that they all come from Gelderland. They come from Achterhoek, he grew up in Gorssel. Also, all three did not live in the city center, but on 'the other side'. 'Den boerbuite', as they put it so beautifully there. “De Overkant” is just about this: the feeling of nostalgia for your youth and simple times when there was nothing to do in a one-street village with a café and a church tower. Yet the song is cheerful and Suzan sings along on Freek's enticing guitar. They sing about doors and bicycles that don't have to be locked, their geographic knowledge of streets and squares, and the surrounding forests. It's a compelling, nice tune that you can easily get along with. And then you also have rapper Snelle. In short, LOKSCHIJF at LOK-Radio!

Decade Dick: Almost all participants passed the traffic exam

Freek Bredius was a guest in Decennium Dick on behalf of Safe Traffic Netherlands department Krimpen aan den IJssel. He was able to tell us that 421 children participated in the practical traffic exam today. All but five children passed. Congratulations to all! The children who did not make it turned out to have cycled on the route with their hands free. The route started and ended at the Tuyter. Mayor Martijn Vroom was present to officially start the first class. 7.3 Kilometers was cycled and the children of the groups 7 and 8 passed all kinds of difficult intersections and traffic situations in Krimpen aan den IJssel. What was very annoying and difficult was that there have been young people who removed or turned around signs from the route. In addition, some plates are irreparably damaged. It was the first time that this happened on the day of the traffic test. Your browser does not support this audio player. You can download the file . Also in this edition of Decennium Dick a...

Possibly Fieldlab church service in Krimpen

Thursday evening April 1 in Decennium Dick in extended with Mayor Martijn Vroom to look back on the past week. Through Teams I spoke with the mayor tonight about the impasse, the polarization and how we hope to get out of this situation together. POLARIZATION This week for the churches 'The silent week' it is the week of Good Friday and the following Easter. But it was not quiet in Krimpen aan den IJssel. It was restless with a journalist being kicked in the stomach and a firework bomb that exploded near the 'Oude Gereformeerde Kerk in the Netherlands' popularly known as the Mieraskerk. There is polarization. The full city council issued a joint statement this week. The mayor calls it 'the basis for a lot of good that is yet to come'. But the mayor also realizes that more is needed to regain peace in Krimpen: 'Without outside help, I think we will not just get out as a village, so we have already discussed this road a number of times. had with the ministr...
