Trailer detaches from car on N372. Cycling girls barely manage to avoid projectile

On the N372 between Peize and Groningen a girl on a bicycle was slightly injured by a detached trailer on Friday afternoon. The accident happened in the direction of Groningen. Police report that a trailer began to swing behind a car and then became loose. The trailer flipped over several times and ended up on the cycle path next to the N372, where two girls were cycling. One of the two narrowly evaded the trailer and was not injured. The other girl was, miraculously, only slightly injured. She was taken to hospital by ambulance for a check-up. “The question now remains whether the girl was injured by the collision with the trailer, or by her evasive maneuver. Fortunately it ended with a fizzle, ”reports police spokesperson Bert Sietzema. According to the police, what caused the trailer to swing is not yet known. Unbelievable.
