Dire ginger nuts situation at primary school in Westerbork: a call to Q saves Sinterklaas party

Code red, last week at Kindcentrum De Wegwijzer in Westerbork: the order for the gingerbread cookies for the Sinterklaas party at school had not been received.

In total, the child center, which houses two primary schools, had ordered 370 bags of gingerbread cookies for all pupils. "The day an MR member wanted to pick up the gingerbread cookies, it turned out that the order had not been received," says Laura Smilda. “We tried to order from other branches, but none of them were able to deliver them on time. Pepernoten were available, but the point was that they were corona-proof in the bags. ” A pepper-nut-free Sinterklaas party threatened De Wegwijzer.
In an effort to get the ginger nuts in time, Smilda sent a message to Domien Verschuuren's radio show on Qmusic asking if he could help. "Then suddenly I got an answer from Domien asking if I wanted to do my story in the broadcast."
No sooner said than done. After Smilda explained the situation, the DJ reported that he had called around and Bolletje would personally deliver the 370 bags of gingerbread cookies to the school. "I've been busy with it today and have had them on the phone 25 times," said the DJ in the broadcast. A joking warning also followed for next year. 'Laura, I want to warn you about next year, because I don't do this two years in a row, but now I wish you a very nice Sinterklaas party this year'

Municipalities support National Moluccan Monument

This year it will be 70 years ago that the 1st generation Moluccans were transferred to the Netherlands in 1951 with 12 ship transports. Largest water lily in the world blooms in Leiden

The oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands, the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden, has a wonderful pineapple scent. That means that the Victoria Amazonica is in bloom.
