Dire ginger nuts situation at primary school in Westerbork: a call to Q saves Sinterklaas party

Code red, last week at Kindcentrum De Wegwijzer in Westerbork: the order for the gingerbread cookies for the Sinterklaas party at school had not been received.

In total, the child center, which houses two primary schools, had ordered 370 bags of gingerbread cookies for all pupils. "The day an MR member wanted to pick up the gingerbread cookies, it turned out that the order had not been received," says Laura Smilda. “We tried to order from other branches, but none of them were able to deliver them on time. Pepernoten were available, but the point was that they were corona-proof in the bags. ” A pepper-nut-free Sinterklaas party threatened De Wegwijzer.
In an effort to get the ginger nuts in time, Smilda sent a message to Domien Verschuuren's radio show on Qmusic asking if he could help. "Then suddenly I got an answer from Domien asking if I wanted to do my story in the broadcast."
No sooner said than done. After Smilda explained the situation, the DJ reported that he had called around and Bolletje would personally deliver the 370 bags of gingerbread cookies to the school. "I've been busy with it today and have had them on the phone 25 times," said the DJ in the broadcast. A joking warning also followed for next year. 'Laura, I want to warn you about next year, because I don't do this two years in a row, but now I wish you a very nice Sinterklaas party this year'
This afternoon, December 2, the ginger nuts were delivered by Bolletje. Nicely done by Domien! Class!!!

In this Happy Hour we will of course call someone who has a birthday , yes yes, still today! And then I am talking about my radio colleague, the presenter of Decennium Dick and co-presenter of Kijk op Krimpen.

We have two separate Jukebox Giants, starring Frank Kramer, who passed away today . Former football player and TV presenter Frank Kramer has died at the age of 73. According to Philip Kooke, writer of the biography of the striking figure. Kramer had been ill for some time. His football career took Kramer past FC Amsterdam, Telstar and FC Volendam, among others. He was considered an erratic attacker. After his football career he became a host of game shows such as Hints and Boggle . Until two years ago he was active as a commentator on Eurosport. Kramer was taken to hospital last Friday after becoming unwell on his own birthday. Johan Derksen announced this on Monday in the TV program Veronica Inside . "He is very bad," said Derksen in the broadcast about his condition. The former football player and presenter will leave a message through his biographer on Wednesday. "Frank would like to tell you this," Kooke writes on Twitter. “Folks, it was beautiful. Thank you all very much. ”

Erik's tip is:

Have fun listening!

Municipalities support National Moluccan Monument

This year it will be 70 years ago that the 1st generation Moluccans were transferred to the Netherlands in 1951 with 12 ship transports. On command, about 4000 Moluccan KNIL soldiers and Navy men came to the Netherlands with their families (in total 12,500 persons). At the point of arrival of the 1st transport ship at the Lloydkade in Rotterdam, it is not yet possible to trace a historical event. The National Moluccan Monument Foundation (LMM) is committed to realizing a monument. The monument will be a tribute to this 1st generation Moluccans and their families and in recognition of the shared past. The monument can also serve to continue telling the story of the arrival of Moluccans in the Netherlands to current and future generations. For anyone interested in this history, the foundation wants to offer an opportunity to learn more. They believe that more knowledge of each other's past leads to more understanding. To realize a monument, the LMM foundation has entered into a p

Largest water lily in the world blooms in Leiden

The oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands, the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden, has a wonderful pineapple scent. That means that the Victoria Amazonica is in bloom. With leaves that can grow up to two meters wide, this is the largest water lily in the world and its flowers smell like pineapple. The flower of the Victoria Amazonica is a night bloomer and only blooms in high summer. What is special is that the water lily only blooms for two nights. Rogier de Vugt, cashier of the Leiden Hortus Botanicus, knows everything about the plant. "The first night the flower is white and gives off a strong pineapple smell, which attracts beetles. The second night the flower turns pink and has no smell anymore. The beetles still come to it and are covered with pollen", explains De Vugt. Because the plant has an enormous size, only one can grow in the pond of the Hortus. "The leaves have raised edges, so they can't grow over each other, so they can't get any light anymore. Th
