In Italy a snack bar has been found that is more than 2000 years old. The restaurant was in Pompeii. That city disappeared more than two thousand years ago due to an eruption of the volcano Vesuvius. Everything came to lie under a thick layer of ash. A large part of the city has now been excavated. Snack bars have been discovered before, but archaeologists think their latest find is extra special. There is a lot left of it and even ancient food remains have been found. There are also paintings of the animals that were eaten there. Archaeologists are trying to restore the snack bar as good as possible. Perhaps make it a drive thru?
