Diver Jesse retrieves Mona's lost phone: Full of valuable files

Bad luck for the German Mona who is studying in Breda: she dropped her phone in the canal. Because there were many valuable files on it, she called in a diving school to get her phone back. With result.

The Breda diving school DiveSenses regularly receives requests to find lost items. "Often these are things that are of real value to people. Wedding rings, telephones on keys", diver Jesse Zuidmeer tells EditieNL. He went looking for Mona's phone on Saturday.
"Mona is studying photography in the Netherlands and her phone contained a lot of valuable documents that she had not stored anywhere else. So it was very important for her to get her phone back."
So Jesse went into the canal. He searched for her phone with a friend for an hour and a half. "Mona was able to tell us exactly where the phone had fallen into the water." Because the canal is only two meters deep, Jesse could stay in the water for a long time. "You then use almost as much air as on the surface, so we could search for a while. When we finally found the phone, Mona was very happy."
Jesse doesn't know whether the phone still works. "I advised her to let the phone dry for three days, otherwise it will short circuit. If it works again, she would let you know."
Mona has now informed the diving school that her SIM card and SD card have been saved, so she has a large part of her files back.

Decade Dick: Almost all participants passed the traffic exam

Freek Bredius was a guest in Decennium Dick on behalf of Safe Traffic Netherlands department Krimpen aan den IJssel. He was able to tell us that 421 children participated in the practical traffic exam today. All but five children passed. Congratulations to all! The children who did not make it turned out to have cycled on the route with their hands free. The route started and ended at the Tuyter. Mayor Martijn Vroom was present to officially start the first class. 7.3 Kilometers was cycled and the children of the groups 7 and 8 passed all kinds of difficult intersections and traffic situations in Krimpen aan den IJssel. What was very annoying and difficult was that there have been young people who removed or turned around signs from the route. In addition, some plates are irreparably damaged. It was the first time that this happened on the day of the traffic test. Your browser does not support this audio player. You can download the file . Also in this edition of Decennium Dick a...

Renewed culture agenda in development!

Behind the scenes, a lot of work is being done to develop a renewed culture agenda for shrinking; SHRINKING AGENDA. A site for enthusiasts (young and old) of sports and cultural activities and outings in Krimpen aan den IJssel. We hope to launch the new website ( www.uitagendakrimpen.nl ) at the start of the new sports and culture season in September.
