Historical walk Krimpen

Spring is coming and therefore a good time, especially in this Corona time, to get moving and go outside! That is why Krimpenwijzer, Seniorenplatform, Synerkri and Historisch Kring Krimpen have joined forces and are organizing, following the success of the Neighborhood Walk: The Historical Walk.

Discover a piece of Krimpen aan den IJssel's history. With a route map you go along a number of sights. You can also find interesting facts about history on this card.

The walk is organized corona proof: with no more than 2 people at the same time.

The walk is organized four times from 25 March to 1 April. Everyone can start the walk at different starting points. You will receive a route map and a handy walking bag with a fun informative content including a booklet about the history of the Krimpenerwaard.

Are you walking with us? Then sign up at the KrimpenWijzer, for the Historical walk, accessible daily from 9 a.m. to 12 noon via telephone number 06-82942440. There, participants also get an exact time when they can pick up the walk at the starting point.

This walk will be added to the four existing and updated historical walks of the Historisch Kring Krimpen that can be found on the website of, among others, the municipality and the Regional Museum Krimpenerwaard. Participants in the above historical walking tour will receive the four routes in their walking bag.

Decade Dick: Almost all participants passed the traffic exam

Freek Bredius was a guest in Decennium Dick on behalf of Safe Traffic Netherlands department Krimpen aan den IJssel. He was able to tell us that 421 children participated in the practical traffic exam today. All but five children passed. Congratulations to all! The children who did not make it turned out to have cycled on the route with their hands free. The route started and ended at the Tuyter. Mayor Martijn Vroom was present to officially start the first class. 7.3 Kilometers was cycled and the children of the groups 7 and 8 passed all kinds of difficult intersections and traffic situations in Krimpen aan den IJssel. Man survives eighteen days in Australian wilderness

A 58-year-old man who had been missing in the Australian wilderness for 18 days has been found safe and sound. Robert Weber survived by drinking water from a dam and eating mushrooms. Police have announced. The man was last seen on January 6, after leaving a hotel in Kilkivan, Queensland, about 200 kilometers north of Brisbane. According to police, Weber got stuck on a road unknown to him. "He then stayed close to his car for three days, along with his dog, until he ran out of water," police said in a statement.
