Ten goats dumped in the Spaarnwoude recreational area

A special find in the Spaarnwoude recreation area: after a report, a forester found ten dumped goats there on Monday evening near the Valleiweg. "This is animal abuse," said the ranger who found the animals.
"Monday evening around 7.10 pm we received a report about stray goats near the Valleiweg", the forester tells NH Nieuws. "On the spot it turned out to be six adult goats and four young kids."
The on-duty forest rangers have collected the ten goats in a trailer, provided them with hay and green fodder and then taken them to the nearby Zorgvrij information farm, where they are temporarily housed. "They look good, but do not have an ear tag, which is mandatory," the forester tells NH Nieuws. One of the goats did wear an ear tag, although it may have been removed by force. "Because he had a crack in his ear."
The ranger hopes that witnesses have received something from the goat dump. She suspects that this must have happened on Monday evening between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. near the Valleiweg. "And maybe someone recognizes the goats or notices that goats have disappeared somewhere."
The forester who found the goats has 'never experienced this before', she tells NH Nieuws. "This is very sad, very strange that someone leaves his animals like this", she concludes. Today an animal shelter organization will collect the goats from the Zorgvrij farm.
Just like the recreation board, the animal police, to whom the find has been reported, calls on witnesses to report. The police insist that the abandonment of animals is prohibited. More than rightly so!

In this edition of Happy Hour we have two Jukebox Giants, that of Jacky van Dam. Singer Jacky van Dam passed away on May 15. He was the singer of the popular Feyenoord song 'Hand in hand, comrades'. He released the single in 1961. The song was previously sung by fans of several football clubs. Such as at the Rotterdam amateur football club Coal, where Johnny Hoes played football, among others. At the request of Johnny Hoes, singer and lyricist Jaap Valkhoff wrote a few verses. Jacky van Dam sang it in and THE club song of Feyenoord was born. To this day it is played when the Feyenoord players enter the field for a match in De Kuip. Jacky van Dam was also known from the song 'Japie de Portier'. He had been ill for a long time, he had lung cancer. Van Dam stayed in a nursing home in Rotterdam. Last Thursday he turned 83. Hence these Jukebox Giants. Lourens Portasse will delight us with his political commentary in these troubled times. And of course we call people who have (had) their birthday.

Have fun listening!

Decade Dick: Almost all participants passed the traffic exam

Freek Bredius was a guest in Decennium Dick on behalf of Safe Traffic Netherlands department Krimpen aan den IJssel. He was able to tell us that 421 children participated in the practical traffic exam today. All but five children passed. Congratulations to all! The children who did not make it turned out to have cycled on the route with their hands free. The route started and ended at the Tuyter. Mayor Martijn Vroom was present to officially start the first class. 7.3 Kilometers was cycled and the children of the groups 7 and 8 passed all kinds of difficult intersections and traffic situations in Krimpen aan den IJssel. What was very annoying and difficult was that there have been young people who removed or turned around signs from the route. In addition, some plates are irreparably damaged. It was the first time that this happened on the day of the traffic test. Your browser does not support this audio player. You can download the file . Also in this edition of Decennium Dick a...
