The new LOK disc: Voila (Barbara Pravi)

In 2019 and 2020 Barbara wrote the French entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in 2020 Valentina won with that entry. Barbara is a woman of strong opinion. For example, in 2014 she released the song Chair, which made it clear that she supported a relaxation in the French abortion law. All her songs are about a certain vulnerability, like “Voilà”, in which she asks that someone listen to her. More than once she has been compared to Edith Piaf, the world famous French singer. She came second in the Eurovision Song Contest with 499 points. This week LOX DISK.

Municipalities support National Moluccan Monument

This year it will be 70 years ago that the 1st generation Moluccans were transferred to the Netherlands in 1951 with 12 ship transports. On command, about 4000 Moluccan KNIL soldiers and Navy men came to the Netherlands with their families (in total 12,500 persons). At the point of arrival of the 1st transport ship at the Lloydkade in Rotterdam, it is not yet possible to trace a historical event. The National Moluccan Monument Foundation (LMM) is committed to realizing a monument. The monument will be a tribute to this 1st generation Moluccans and their families and in recognition of the shared past. The monument can also serve to continue telling the story of the arrival of Moluccans in the Netherlands to current and future generations.
